I made something awesome last night. It was so awesome, in fact, that it's getting it's own blog entry.

I made this and I also made the crust for the bottom from scratch, too.

Let me just say....it is FAB-U-LOUS.

I followed the recipe for measurements and time, etc. Here are my notes: I used 4 Granny Smith Apples. (I wasn't sure of the exact poundage and cuppage, but it was pretty close, whatever it was, and was the perfect amount by taste.) And I added some oats into the topping. Maybe half a cup? I dunno, I just threw some in. I considered putting some pecans over the top, but trust me, it is so good, it doesn't need it.

Holy Cow. So rediculously good. I'm not even kidding....it is, by far the best apple pie-type food I have ever had.

Did I mention this was my maiden voyage in pie-making? Yeah. I'm pretty proud of myself. Pie AND the crust.

Boo-yah.

The point is... You should all go make this TODAY. And tell me how yours turns out.

I had SO much fun. I thouroughly enjoyed making pie crust. I don't have a rolling pin, so i did it all by pressing it out by hand and I used a glass for a bit. Hee.

The pie smelled SO GOOD while it was cooking. It made my house smell like fall.

I love it, I love it, I love it.
