A few things:

1) It is two and a half weeks until the wedding, and we still haven't heard from about 30 people as to whether or not they're attending the wedding. This really aggravates me. Mostly, because I need to let the cake and food people know something, and I can't.

2)Buddy and Frenchie had a prayer luncheon for us on Sunday and invited several people from church that we're close to, and it was LOVELY. It was so nice. It was great food and fellowship and the man that did our pre-mar. counseling prayed for us. It was very cool. aaaaaaaaaaand. we made out with some sweet gifts! WOO!

3) On Saturday, we got to see our new apartment. Andrew has to be out of his current apt by the end of this month, so the girl that lived where we're going to move in had alread moved out. This is the first time I had seen it at all, and the first time Andrew had seen it emptied and cleaned out. He videotaped me walking in, and we did a whole walk-though on the video camera and showed all the rooms and stuff. It was cool. Then we had a little huggy-moment in our living room of our new home! YAY! The committee at RTS in charge of welcoming people had left this lovely little note with their phone numbers and they made us a sign that said "Welcome Home" and there was a little care package with things like TP, paper towels, ice cube tray, bottled water, magnets, a plastic pitcher and fruit punch. And other stuff. On the bottom of the note, they had written something like, "welcome to your new home, Newleyweds!" Aw. We're moving stuff in now and we won't live there together for a few more weeks, but it was neat.

The carpet is in great condition, and it had just been steam cleaned, and the rest of the apt was really in good clean shape, but I still wanted to go over pretty much everything and clean it well, myself. So a little bit Saturday but mostly last night I spent a LOT of time doing things like wiping out all the shelving and putting down shelf paper (this takes FOREVER!!!), wiping down the cabinets, spraying down the oven and the bathtub like 3 times and letting them sit and soak the crud (nasty stuff came off) before I got to it and scoured it all....mopped floors...twice....hehe. Windexed windows. Stuff like that. Wiped the baseboards down in the kitchen. Andrew worked on the outside lighting. I brought some stuff over that wouldn't be in the way of moving like some clothes to put in the closet and a bunch of toilitry stuff to go in the bathroom cabinets. Oh, I forgot to say. Saturday night, we literally filled a truck-load worth of stuff from Andrew's current apt and moved it into our new apt. All he has left to move from his current apt for the most part are his books and most of his clothes. The furniture is another story, because that is mostly all in the storage unit across the street. This includes our bed and all our living room furniture and our desks and our bedroom furniture and kitchen table, and MUCH more.

Yeah...so its tons of fun. I love it. I was so worn out last night cause I cleaned really hard. But I love working on our new home!

Congrats on your wedding. Are you guys all ready? planning wise I mean? Your apartment sounds great. Is it a one bedroom? The prayer lunch sounds amazing. I had 7 wedding showers. Three with church people (two from my church, one from his), one at his work, two family/friends ones, and he had a tool party. I think the ones with the church people were fun, but prayer would have been great. To have someone prayer over you and for you is amazing! Well, congrats again, and enjoy the new apartment. We've been in ours for over a year now and still love it. We had about 6 people help us get all of the wedding gifts moved from my mom's to our apartment.

Don't fret about the 30 people. Just overestimate a bit. You have to remember that last minute stuff does come up and some people who said they would make it, won't. I know you said you contacted everyone by e-mail, could you call those 30 people? If you really want to be exact for the catererers (Is that a word), then that's what I would suggest.

Have a great day,
Amy Roch (from the DW board)

Things still have to be done concerning the wedding, oh trust me. 2 Bedroom APT. The lunch WAS amazing. 7 showers?!?! wow! I had one shower, and it was great. This luncheon def. was not a shower of any sorts, but three people brought us gifts. We are bringing things over to the apt in shifts. A little at a time, for now.

About the 30 people, my mom is calling some of those people, but some of those people wont' call her back. And more than half of the people I emailed a week and a half ago wont' email me back. Andrew is in charge of contacting his people. I can start calling people but I really didn't want to have to do that. I'm kind of disappointed in people, to tell you the truth. Oh well. Life is disappointing.

I was planning on overestimating, but to me, a 30 person lee-way is a big error margin. Money is so tight and we really don't have the funds to pay for the 30 people's food and cake and all of that if they're not coming anyway. I really hope these people can come, and I don't see them as an expense if they're coming, but if I don't know if they're coming or not, I see it as a maybe unneccessary expense.

Good to see you here, Amy.

Yeah, I understand about the money. We were really lucky that my mom had the funds to pay for everything.

For the cake, don't worry about the number. Do however many you have now. If everyone doesn't get a piece, it won't be a big deal. Remember some people don't eat cakes.

Sounds like you're still a little bit away from being done, but don't stress too much. I just hope that you can enjoy your wedding day. We planned everything so well, that our video/photographer and flower lady said wow, you guys are so calm and relaxed...we never see that.

Yeah, I've read your blog for a while now. Check out mine.
