i've come to the conclusion that no one reads my blog. EVER. except andrew, kate, matt (from the webboard) and Dale. *sigh*
i wish i was cool, like people like Michaela and all those xanga-ers that get 20 comments a post.
*sigh*

actually, i read your blog all the time. i check it almost everyday.
..the xanga-ers get lots of comments simply because it's xanga,a nd everyone has one. blogspot isn't quite as i suppose popular as xanga yet.
but uh yeah... i read it! dang it. haha.
Actually, Blogger/Blogspot is the bigger name in terms of free weblogging. It took me quite some time afterward to even know Xanga was around. Somewhere somebody mentioned how certain weblogging tools are just that. Tools. Xanga however is creating a community and they just happen to use a blogging tool to do that. Notice how Xanga makes it easier to post somments if you are a Xanga user yourself. Xanga also gives a user the ability to keep up to date with other Xanga users easier. Of course, using something like Bloglines to keep up with blogs is many many times better than what Xanga offers because it's not limited to just Xanga blogs. Xanga also seems to use things like blogrings which can add to the community feel.
Anyway, I wouldn't worry too much about comments. I know Morgan complained about only having six comments one time. Me getting six comments would be like my second highest total ever. :-) I believe 7 is my best and I was half of the comments in both cases. :-) That does help though. If somebody leaves a comment, you can answer back to them, and it might encourage them to comment more. In a sense, you are trying to create a community within your blog.
Just remember, there are going to be times when you post something and you swear you will get feedback, and you don't, and then there are times where you post something and you figure nothing will come of it, and you find yourself getting comments.
Also, last year I was getting around 23 hits per day on my site. This past month I was around 126, and this month I'm on pace to break that. I'm on my third year of "blogging" on my site, and I still get little amount of comments though. Well, besides spam ones. :-) I'll skip the geek speak and say that having people grab your site's feed and checking in that way does wonders for your hit total. :-) Again, doing this via Bloglines is very easy.
